Communikator
Communikator needed a website designed quickly in order to establish themselves online as the business was expanding rather rapidly and they only had a very basic holding page in place.
The design process was quite difficult as they had very fixed ideas about layout drawn from experience of print. In the end they went for a letterbox design with a fixed height and width which meant that everything had to be pixel perfect.
Although the final site was a bit of a compromise for me, I was happy as I managed to do most of what they asked using web standards, including the integration of multiple image galleries and quicktime video clips. Oh yeah, and it actually looked pretty cool on a mobile phone as well.
Content management was achieved using Contribute, for the Mac this time. I also helped sort out their search ranking as they had some competition on the company name from Nokia, who make very cool phone with the same name.
Update
The version of the site I built for them is no longer there unfortunately. It lasted about a year and then got replaced by a newer, slicker version that plays Lenny Kravitz when it loads.
